About this Publication ............................................................................................ The Tennessee College Guide and the Tennessee Career Guide are educational re- sources developed to assist students and their parents as they begin to make decisions about their future. The Guides are developed in partner- ships with local school sys- tems and provided at no cost for use and distribution through individual schools’ guidance departments and other sources. The purpose of the Guides is to create comprehensive resources to provide students with a complete overview of all available post-secondary options in Tennessee as well as an introduction to some of Tennessee’s top careers and companies. The project is a collaborative effort made possible through partnerships with local school systems, colleges, state agencies, professional associations, and the corporate community. Colleges, associations, and companies provide the majority of the project funding through the purchase of space within the Guides. These funds offset the production costs for the project. The corporate community also underwrites the printing costs, with busi- nesses sponsoring their local school system to provide the number of copies they require. Additional editorial content and other information is provided through partnerships with the various state educational agencies. It is only through these comprehensive and extensive partnerships that the Tennessee College Guide and Tennessee Career Guide have realized such amazing success, serving as the only resources of their kind for use within Tennessee’s schools. The Guides currently reach over 40,000 students and is currently working to expand its impact statewide. The publishers wish to thank the contributors and sponsors for their partnership, direction and vision in helping these pub- lications reach the success that they have achieved. It is a privilege and honor to provide these valuable resources to the stu- dents across Tennessee seeking to assist them in reaching their maximum success in life.
